What is Wicca?

What is Wicca you may ask? I think it can be differrent things to different people. For me, it is about being in tune with nature, the rhythm of the earth, moon and stars. Accepting the spirit world as being as tangible as the ‘real’ world. There is no hatred, but only love and joy. It is about honoring the Goddess and the God, the female and male manifestations of the The One who are honored on sacred days. It is about developing one’s personal power. Caring for one another as fellow beings. I am sure that you would get different definitions from others but this is what it is about for me. Please share what Wicca is to you.

Can I share what being a Witch is to me? I am not Wiccan and it sounds like you lean further away from Wicca than you may think :) unless I am totally off base….

We are int he Woods. We listen to the Trees and the Birds and at night we hear the Frogs and the Bugs int he Spring and Summer. WE hear what they are saying. We know what is coming with the way the Wind feels or if the Moon is brighter or more dull than usual. We know how to wildcraft what we need or seek out those who have what we need but may not have. We know how to use herbs and when to work them for a purpose. We know how to heal ourselves and our own with what we find in the Woods that shelter us. We know when we are weak and when we are powerful through the cycle of the month. We scry in the Fire or water or mirror, we read Tarot and it means certain things to us that it may not mean to you. We celebrate at the Solstices and at the Equinox and the celebrations that mean something to us through the year (Our family does not celebrate all Sabbats) We watch the World and Nature and are concerned for Her from the damage Her children have done to her. We care, we love, we nurture every living thing that passes our way.

Oh man I could go on!
