About the Green Man

I am sure you have noticed that the main theme of my site is that of the Green Man. He is a symbol of nature, the god of vegitation. He can be found in many places including your local garden center as various garden statues. In Europe he can be found in many churches, shrines, alcoves and gardens. He is present in many different cultures. He is a symbol of life, death and rebirth.

I am personally rather found of all the different incarnations of the Green Man. What are your thoughts on this? Please share you thoughs with us.

We have the Green Man in our home and incidentally, our town name is Backus, HA HA!! The Green man and Gaia are the two main revered Deities in our home. That we live in 12 acres of the Woods and we are organic farmers is not a coincidence, I believe! there is a lot of inspiration to be had inthe Earth and the Green Man and Gaia as they work together as one.

We have a Green Ma suitable for indoors hanging on the wall beside our Gaia, but Ihave yet to find a duo I feel belongs inour gardens to watch over them. I’ve sent the desire out there though. Have you been on my photo a day site? http:tasharose365.wordpress.com, Ihave a photo of my own personal altar (not the family altar) and my own Gaia is on it, front and center with a miriad of other Goddesses.

    Love your site!
