Magickal Circle

I am very glad it is now spring. It is pretty safe to say that we won’t get any real snow any more this year. I am enjoying the daffodils and crocus and I have tulips coming up. I love this time of year and look forward to it getting a bit warmer and working out in the yard, small though it is.

With the upcoming arrival of Beltane, we will be passing from the time of dark where the god rules and into the time where the goddess prevails. This is my favorite time except for the extreme heat of summer. The humidity here outside Phila Pa can be oppressive in the summer and I don’t look forward to that. Thank goodness for central air but I hate the electric bills. I am hoping to complete some home projects, specifically redoing my bathroom.

I’d like to have a celebration for Beltane this year and I have the month of April to plan. But between a full time job and other projects, there never seems to be time. I do, however, take the time to reflect on the goddess at the time of the full moon, and thank her. At least I can do this much and hope that she knows that which is in my heart.

Do you have special plans for Beltane? What do you do? How do you honor the Goddess at this time?

I have been having many difficulties in my life lately. I think of the Law of Three and question what I did that has brought about these problems. I feel I am a good person, not mean to anyone. Perhaps a bit direct sometimes but otherwise I am considerate and thoughtful. Have I done something wrong perhaps in a previous life? Perhaps just bad Karma. I am trying not to feel guilty. I persevere and try to make do with what life deals me but I really do have to question my actions. Any thoughts on this?

Tomorrow is the first day of spring. I love spring and how I have waited for this time. We are still in the dark days ruled by the God until Beltane on May first.

From Buckland, I have learned that wild flowers should be on or near the altar with a green candle and altar cloth. Hmm. I didn’t realize that you changed the altar clot color too, I though it was just the candles. I guess you can do which ever you want.

As an aside, I am amazed at the variety in the books and writings. I guess this demonstrates the importance of reading from many sources because of the different types of followings within the path.

The is a ritual described in his book for Equinox but I don’t know that I am organized enough yet. I need to read his versions on getting started and initiations.

I keep questioning my decision to follow this path. In my heart of hearts I know this is right. I just have to find my place I suppose.

Has anyone else struggled with this? I would be interested to hear your story.

I’ve had trouble getting around to posting. I’ve had a touch of spring fever and have had trouble settling down to do too much of anything. The weather here has started to warm up with temperatures in the 60’s. I feel the outdoors calling me- the garden is starting awaken.

I feel the pull of the mountains. I love to go there and just relax. There always seems to be so much to do and to just go somewhere and sit seems so counterproductive. The big thing is there is no internet in the woods- at least not where we are. But maybe it is best to leave it home- the internet, that is.  Take the time to be one with nature, away from the daily activity. Get grounded again. It is a healing place.

Is there a special place you like to go and relax? Perhaps you would like to share.

I am really getting into this oracle card thing. A co worker let me look at a deck  of Goddess Oracle cards. They were pretty cool and outlined a ritual to do. I’d like to get some more cards. I guess if I get more into Tarot- I will correct those decks too. Anybody else play with Oracle cards?

The full moon just past along with another opportunity for ritual. I did take the opportunity to thank the goddess for everything she has given me. I missed the eclipse- oh well but I understand it was not all that good anyway.

I have been playing a bit with the fairy cards. They never fail to facinate me. The way cards jump out of the deck- sometime literally fly out of the deck. And then to ask the same question again and get the same answers-same cards. It is too weird.

A coworker was playing with the and was amazed with them. I have angel cards too but they don’t seem to work as well. I think I have a connection somehow with the fairies. Is there a goddess of the fairies? I seem to keepcoming back to them- much as I do my lizards as an animal totum.

Anyone else had any experiences with oracle cards? I’d be interested to hear about your experiences.
